粉红菊苣(来自狮子座,产卵),西西里鳄梨 粉红菊苣(来自狮子座,产卵),西西里鳄梨 (also from the Sant’Ambrogio market), boiled eggie quarters and daterini 🍅 from @c.bio_firenze, good Tuscan evo oil, smoked trout “salmonata” IGP from the rivers of Trentino- basically a pinkies out wholly Italian-sourced winter(ish) salad.

I’d been loosing inspo on weekday lunch salad ideas but as usual, my trusted (“di fiducia”) veg dealer Leo came to the rescue and suggested pink radicchio + boiled egg salad and I got all American with the million other things added. What are your weekday lunch go-tos?

Speaking of salad, tomorrow I’m so stoked to be doing a live IG chat with @pastasocialclub (the resident pasta guru for @food52!) where we’ll discuss Valentine’s Day pasta dish ideas and wine pairings! It’ll be at 1pm ET/7pm Italy time for those who can join- hopefully I won’t spill the chili and save accurately to archives so you can see it later if missed. Buon lunedì a tutti! 💁🏻‍♀️💕 🥑 🥗 🍝 ❤️🍷#curiousappetite #pastasocialclub
是的发布最疯狂的眼睛图片-有史以来T 是的发布最疯狂的眼睛图片-有史以来The sake of artichokes/attempt at imitating Toto in hopes this makes someone chuckle but also less afraid of cooking w artichokes vs actually being me (which I assure you is scarier 😂😭)

Speaking of being less afraid of monsters, me and @adventureswithsarahm did a FB live on preparing/cooking these thistly things! Did you catch it? If not- I’ll inc. link to newsletter subscribers (sign up via bio!)

How do you artichoke? I love cooking them down for a fresh pasta dressing or raw atop carpaccio...(and 10 pts and/or a food tour for the best artichoke pun...)

鸵鸟生牛肉片配烤蔬菜+巴马干酪 鸵鸟生牛肉片配烤蔬菜+巴马干酪ings @osteriadellebrache_firenze in their living room style outdoor seating set-up. If you’re like whaaaaaa ostrich? Yep it’s the other red meat except leaner, relatively more sustainable (less water/land needed) and a nice change from the usual carne in bistecca town Firenze. Ever tried ostrich?

P.s. that second slide is one hell of a memorable sip- the guys here at Brache make their own pistachio digestivo macerating ground pistachios for several weeks with whiskey to make this fine after meal shot. I so wish they sold bottles because I’m hooked 💚 #curiousappetite #florenceitaly
意大利桃红葡萄酒,罗莎蒂, 意大利桃红葡萄酒,罗莎蒂,ttention imo, and it’s a shame! This one is a SE Sicilian Rosato of frappato and nero d’avola (2 native grapes of Sicily) and pairs deliciously with seafood (and everything else like fried arancini!) but to me the draws of Italian Rosati are this:
-pleasant acidity aka mouth watering freshness plus body/structure from the bit of tannins extracted. This = versatility in food pairing!

Of course these blanket perks depend on the grape/region but I feel like a tasty pair is rarely wrong with Italian rosati!

Generally most can hang with savory aged cheeses, bold seafood dishes that aren’t totally lean, mushroom or other earthy flavors, tomato-based pastas, and even grilled meat depending on how it’s prepared and especially if that Rosato is from Sangiovese.

Typically rosato wines are praised in warmer months but our upcoming virtual wine & cheese tastings on Saturdays 2pm ET will be focusing on Italian rosati in theme with Valentine’s Day- tickets and info via linktree in bio!

P.s. this was taken @araesicilia in Florence and they have the BEST selection of Sicilian wines (not to mention snacks!) to either enjoy on-site or take-away. You a rosato lover? 🌹 ❤️ 🍷 #curiousappetite #virtualwinetasting
Tortelli e ribollita ...原始的斯堪的纳维亚的原始 Tortelli e ribollita ...原始的斯堪的纳维亚的原始ta 😉

If you had to choose between Tuscan soup or stuffed pasta what would it be? Love the market of Sant’Ambrogio, even in the rainiest and brittle chilliest of days 💛#curiousappetite #florenceitaly

Frittelle di Castagne-Con pinoli ...栗子f Frittelle di Castagne-Con pinoli ...栗子flour fritters filled w/ pine nuts- one of the many densely caloric carnival sweets of Italy and made daintily @ilsantobevitorefi’s S.Forno in Santo Spirito (Florence!)

Familiar with Italian carnival snacks? If so- which are your picks? Worth noting I also can’t stop dreaming of the frittelle jammed w chantilly at Forno Pintucci, but otherwise Venice is where I’d wanna torture my pancreas during the festivities...and indulge in all its sightful feasts 💔

想知道意大利最好的果汁在哪里 想知道意大利最好的果汁在哪里s from? Some say Montalcino, Barolo or Valpolicella (they aren’t lying) but some of my favorite drink-all-day glasses are from grapes grown off volcanic slopes and mineral-rich volcanic soil. I love them for providing earthiness, balanced fruit and food-friendly acidity.

It’s hard to appreciate the universe of Italian wines without understanding where grapes are grown/wine is made aka terroir, which is basically a boujee word for PLACE.

This Saturday’s wine & cheese tasting held via Zoom will be flying through 3 Italian wines made in volcanic areas from north to the Sicilian south. We’ll send the wine list (easy to find/have delivered from your local wine shop or specialty grocery store!) plus suggested cheese pairings! 🧀 🐑

Don’t feel intimidated! As long as you drink wine with enthusiasm and/or are curious to learn more- you’re the perfect level- these tastings are designed to be all-inclusive!

Tickets to this Saturday’s online cheese & wine tasting are via link in bio under “event highlight” branch! Time: Jan 30th 2pm ET

What are some Italian wines you’re most curious/enthused about? 🍷 🌋 🧀 🐑 #curiousappetite #onlinetasting
冬天的福利之一,尤其是这次 冬天的福利之一,尤其是这次f year, is kicking off all the artichokes and eating them in myriad ways: fried, ritti, alla romana, carpaccio, etc- this plate from @trattoriacesarino near Sant’Ambrogio as a simple fried starter. As mentioned before, restaurants/bars in Florence are permitted to serve until 6pm in this zona gialla state, and many have pivoted to delivery for evening meals. I made a highlight in profile for a handful of my favorite spots to eat in Florence, perhaps they can give some ideas if you’re in town/looking for a place to lunch or order from.

Plus- my blog thecuriousappetite.com has a slew of curated guides and links to round-up listicles for sites like @eater @guardian @voguemagazine- peep stories today and I’ll share additional picks and links to listicles to bookmark, whether here or will be soon enough!

Any other requests for highlights to pin? Big virtual hug to all! X #curiousappetite #florenceitaly 🍴
每个星期天,我们举办新鲜面食制作课程vi 每个星期天,我们举办新鲜面食制作课程via Zoom with one of our instructors, Patrizia who you may have met if you’ve cooked with us in Florence. Patrizia is a culinary journalist, sommelier and earnest custodian of her family’s fresh pasta recipes as her mom’s side hails from neighboring Emilia-Romagna, the region considered king for indulgent riches like tortellini and lasagna.

Yesterday we made squid ink ravioli and your results were impressive! This Sunday January 31st at 12noon ET we’ll be making tagliatelle with dried porcini 🍄 😋

Sundays in February are scheduled too (link in bio!) and involve gnocchi, lasagna and big cheese-filled tortelloni 🧀 🍐

We hope to roll with you one of these Sundays, and if you have a pasta curious friend who you’d like to join you- tag them in comments and we’ll enter you in a raffle for a 2-for-1 ticket deal to an upcoming online class!

Ticket giveaway will close Friday January 29th and chosen raffle-style. Winner will get a 2-for-1 ticket to any scheduled online pasta class, or value ($40) can be applied to any private group lesson.

Hope this makes Monday a little nicer! Buona pasta a tutti 🍝 #curiousappetite #giveaway
